Job summary The CAMHS directorate in North Yorkshire and York locality of TEWV is comprised of the two York Community CAMHS teams based at Orca House, the Selby team based at Worsley Court, the Harrogate Team based at Dragon Parade, the Scarborough Team based at Lake House and the Northallerton Team based at North Moor House with a peripheral clinic in Colburn. This post will provide input into Northallerton part of the North Yorkshire and York service. Specifically, this service is commissioned by the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership. It has a Single Point of Access service staffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a telephone consultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to all referrals and help young people and their families with the process of navigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. The service works with a model of brief intervention to empower young people and their families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plans are designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, in order to provide high quality evidence-based care. This post arises from the funding which has been used for the last 18 months for a fixed term 0.6 specialty doctor post, this has proven to be a successful post which the service would like to see made permanent, thus the development of this permanent position. Main duties of the job The post holder will have responsibility to work alongside, and under the supervision of, consultant psychiatrists in the team to provide psychiatric care to young people living in the Northallerton area. This provision will include Clinics at North Moor House: this will involve working alongside other clinicians in the medical management of young people with ADHD and will be the majority of the postholders work. Subject to the postholders prior experience and developments needs they may also be involved, alongside other clinicians, in the assessment and treatment of young people with significant mental illness There is considerable flexibility in organising clinical work but a typical half days clinic would include 2- 3 follow up appointments lasting 60 minutes each and/or a new patient assessment lasting 90 minutes (depending on other clinical meetings) with at least 60 minutes of associated clinical administration time. Liaison with Paediatricians based at James Cook University Hospital and other nearby hospitals as and when appropriate. Advice and consultation to the multidisciplinary team.
