An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic System Reliability Engineer to join our System Engineering Team within the Engineering directorate. Driving delivery of engineering and environmental policy, standards and improvement plans for a reliable and resilient network, System Engineering is core to a successful Net Zero. We are a diverse team, creating a smarter, more flexible electricity distribution network that will enable our region to decarbonise and meet the needs of our customers now, and in the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the leading edge of thinking in the electricity industry, at a time when it is on the path to net zero. In this role we are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and play a key role in enhancing the performance of our electrical power network.
The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in electrical power systems, along with data analysis and benchmarking, to identify and drive targeted improvement initiatives. These efforts will support the team in developing and implementing strategies that deliver significant, long-term improvements to the network, both in the current regulatory period and beyond.

~ Supporting the development of our reliability strategies to facilitate both annual and regulatory business planning incorporating stakeholder engagement
Support delivery of the network performance improvement plan
Support production of reliability plan information and delivery of our reliability related regulatory returns
Support production of annual and regulatory business planning documentation for reliability metrics
Production of routine network analysis and performance reports:
Reliability policy development including time expired reviews/updates and new policies as required.
Technical consultancy/advisory on network reliability for internal and external stakeholders.
Understanding of the industry standard reliability metrics for power networks.
Able to deliver quality outputs to required deadlines with strong verbal and written skills
Data analysis: Techniques that include, statistical process control, reliability modelling and prediction, fault tree analysis
Analysis and Decision Making: Makes good decisions based on sound analysis despite incomplete or conflicting data
Excellent IT literacy and data management/analytic skills
Level 4 qualification in an engineering discipline.
Understanding of the components which impact industry recognized electricity network reliability metrics.
Understanding of the electricity network assets and how they are managed through their lifecycle.
Level 5 or 6 qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Understanding of utility regulation and the complexities of regulatory datasets
Network operations: Track record of supporting electricity network reliability policy and plans in a regulatory environment
