We are seeking a dynamic individual to support and channel our sales and commercial activities within the Waste Management division. As the lead generation expert for Mitie Waste & Environmental Services, you will be at the forefront of our strategy, driving multi-sector, market awareness and customer engagement. This strategic position offers a significant opportunity for growth and development, requiring a task-oriented, hands-on approach within a high-performance, continuous improvement led environment. You will collaborate daily with the sales function, operating within a dedicated team of 300, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed growth and new business targets.
Main Duties
1. To develop and implement a programme of activity to identify and build relationships with key stakeholders and potential customers, improving awareness of Mitie commercial waste management capabilities, to secure new business growth.
2. To source and develop new business development opportunities for waste and resource management services.
3. To generate new sales leads and opportunities with the customer/client to ultimately win profitable contracts.
4. To support the Facilities Management Solutions team as a single service "subject matter expert" providing commercial intelligence.
5. To build a visible pipeline.
6. To achieve agreed targets.
What we are looking for
1. Proven experience of working successfully in the waste management/environmental services sector.
2. Cold-calling proficient, through a variety of channels (social media/professional networks, telephone and email communications).
3. Experience of managing and participating in project teams that work together, adopting project management disciplines.
4. Proven experience of delivery - strong, consistent win ratios against target.
5. Highly numerate with the ability to understand commercial requirements.
6. A commercial thinker with the ability to identify and understand client needs and objectives.
7. In-depth experience of devising innovative, waste management solutions for a variety of organisation types.
8. Good interpersonal skills, influence, and impact, working with others.
9. A strong quality orientation and commitment to continuous improvement.
10. An influential and persuasive communicator, with a high standard of written and verbal communication skills.
11. A Degree or similar qualification would be an advantage; however, this is not essential.
