The Company:
We are working with a leading building contractor whose North West Office is gaining a great reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for clients based in the North West of England.
They have a very approachable and successful senior management team, are members of a number of key public sector, procurement frameworks so secure work in healthcare, for universities, blue light, commercial, industrial, MOJ, MOD and school projects valued up to £50 Million. They are a part of a large Construction Group but still have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported.
They are cash-rich, make good margins on their projects, have an excellent supply chain that they pay promptly and treat with respect, staff turnover is low as people enjoy working there.
The Role:
Due to planned growth, they are now in a position to recruit a Design Manager who will be based from their Manchester office.
You will be tasked with controlling design activity on projects through the preconstruction and delivery phases.
You will provide advice on design risk and produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
You will ensure the delivery team are working to the correct specifications.
Work closely with the pre-construction manager, technical, commercial & operational delivery teams.
Working for this growing building contractor you will be valued as a key member of the team.
You will be running two refurbishment schemes with a combined value of £17 million. You will be running these projects at the same time, which will be starting on-site in August/September.
You:
To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in a Design Management role (They would also be interested in speaking with Design Co-ordinators or Assistant Design Managers with a minimum of 3 years’ experience).
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England.
