The opportunity:
The post will be based within our Appletree Housing Support Service, near Auchterarder supporting one autistic adult within his own home. Autism Practitioners work as part of a team to develop & implement personalised support plans. You would build positive relationships with the supported individual, their family and health and social partnerships. Plans to develop an outreach service to help build activity planners that are meaningful to supported individuals will be put in place. A low arousal approach is essential.
The vision of Appletree Community is of a small, long-term cohesive community, staffed by committed, highly-motivated and creative individuals, in a semi-rural setting to enhance the lives of its unique supported individuals, their families, and those who care for them. Located in a converted steading with its own enclosed courtyard, the environment is adaptive for satisfying lives, cultural, artistic and spiritual practices, indoors and outdoors, offering links with the wider community for the benefit of all and inspiring others.
Minimum Requirements:
* Previous social care experience is desirable but not mandatory.
* All applicants should hold a full UK driving license.
As part of your role, you will be required to undertake shift work, including weekends and evenings and sleepovers, so flexibility towards working hours is key.
We encourage and welcome applications from people with lived experience of autism.
