The role As the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective energy solutions, with a focus on compliance and quality. The ideal candidate will possess significant technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative approach. Your duties and responsibilities will be Support and Leadership: Assist the Term Framework Design Manager in overseeing the electrical design team, ensuring resource coordination and effective workload management. Collaboration: Liaise with the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) design team to ensure smooth project execution. Facilitate regular team meetings to prioritize and align workloads. Design Oversight: Support the creation and review of design deliverables, ensuring all documents and drawings meet the required standards for client submission. Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage project risks, ensuring timely resolution and communication to stakeholders. Project Delivery: Lead and contribute to the effective delivery of projects, meeting client KPIs for quality, cost, and timelines. Feasibility Studies & Tendering: Undertake feasibility studies, prepare Class D estimates, and support tendering activities. Documentation & Contract Management: Review and approve contract documentation, including Scope of Work and Professional Services Agreements for Design Subcontracts. Mentorship: Mentor and train team members, including graduates and trainees, fostering their development and technical competency. Continuous Improvement: Work with the Term Framework Design Manager to identify areas for procedural and policy improvements to enhance operational efficiency.You will have the following qualifications and experience Chartered/Incorporated Engineer or working towards Chartership. Proven experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer in electrical and instrumentation design. Strong background in building services design, particularly in the application of electrical design standards. Degree in electrical engineering or a related field. In-depth understanding of BS7671 and experience applying Building Regulations for compliance with Principal Designer duties. Knowledge of Fire System design in accordance with BS5839 and Hazardous Area (ATEX) design to BS EN (phone number removed), with Compex qualifications preferred. Expertise in electrical design standards and experience with digital engineering tools. Project lifecycle experience and knowledge of industrial HV and LV distribution systems, especially LV distribution. Familiarity with CDM Regulations 2015, including experience in Designer and Principal Designer roles. Strong communication skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.It's great if you also have the following Experience in digital engineering tools and technologies.
