Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for a challenging role within a dynamic joint venture in the water industry? Our client, a collaboration between two major contractors, is seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design efforts on critical water infrastructure projects in the Thames Water region.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the electrical design of water infrastructure systems, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and telemetry.
2. Develop detailed electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications in accordance with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
3. Collaborate closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, and contractors to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems into project plans.
4. Review and approve electrical designs, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety regulations.
5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve electrical design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Support on-site teams during the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
7. Prepare technical documentation, including design calculations, reports, and design reviews.
8. Ensure projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, ideally within the water sector or a related infrastructure industry.
2. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), and relevant industry standards.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex design issues.
4. Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.
5. Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering) and professional certifications.
6. Familiarity with the Thames Water Framework or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
