JOB TITLE: Managing Director, Head of Accounts & Deposits, Business Transaction Banking
LOCATIONS: Edinburgh / Birmingham / Bristol / Glasgow / Leeds / London / Manchester
HOURS: Full-Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About This Opportunity
We have a fantastic new opportunity to lead the Accounts & Deposits Team within our Business Transaction Banking team (BTB), part of the wider Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) division.
Reporting to the Managing Director of BTB, you'll be accountable for building, developing and leading this team and working with the wider Leadership Team to develop a winning strategy in an area vital to helping UK businesses prosper.
We provide a diverse range of products and services both domestically and internationally to a broad range and size of customers across BCB. The Accounts & Deposits Team encompasses all of BCB’s mainstream Business Current Account, Liquidity and Overdraft products, and responsibilities span end to end product management: strategy development and execution, risk and regulatory control, P&L management, senior SME input into and approval of change backlog prioritisation and implementation, commercialisation and pricing optimisation, etc.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead a successful and multifaceted team through strategic change and growth in a fast-paced industry. You'll provide regular business updates to the MD and overall execution of the agreed strategy.
* Contribute to the future development of the combined BTB proposition for BCB clients in an increasingly competitive and innovative marketplace. Key to this will be:
* Developing the future strategy for BTB in conjunction with the leadership team.
* Building client insight for the BTB Product set to inform and support investment plans.
* Digitisation of BCB customer journeys.
* Build strong relationships with key and diverse partners (including external suppliers) to manage their multiple needs and to ensure the delivery of customer solutions.
* Act as the conduit with other product teams across LBG to ensure BCB has a joined-up transactional banking strategy.
* Represent the Bank on relevant UK and International industry forums to build our profile and identify business opportunities.
* As a member of the BTB Leadership team, you'll be responsible for upholding the LBG values and championing an innovation-led culture.
* Drive diversity and inclusion agenda and strong talent and performance management approach.
What You’ll Need
* Consistent Track Record of Leadership and delivery demonstrating a clear focus on meeting agreed business targets, priorities, and objectives – plus ability to deliver & commercialise investment projects. You'll be an inspiring leader that others will follow, communicating a variety of the more complex issues and able to convey an inspiring vision and purpose. Able to implement and maintain an appropriate organization structure with appropriate use of resources in response to changing demands.
* Large Scale Change – Proven experience in leading client-focused, groundbreaking change across a large organisation and sophisticated partner matrix. Delivering both business and client value drivers to successfully meet important metrics across both performance and budget targets.
* Business Strategy and Model – Proven ability to shape strategy and continuously improve the business through the generation of new and practical ways of operating to solve problems and gain competitive advantage.
* Customer and Specialist Knowledge – An understanding of cash management and payments products, services and operational processes and extensive knowledge of the wide variety of products appropriate to businesses. Translates complex business requirements into a clear product line plan, ensuring its effective delivery to client needs.
* Risk Management & Control, Regulatory – Able to identify, assess, supervise, control, and mitigate risks across the business and ensure effective governance, oversight, and controls in the business.
* Market Knowledge – Full awareness and understanding of the BCB & Group, economic and market environment (Economic, political, domestic, and international environment within which LBG operates) alongside wider financial services industry, its structure, and key areas / risks, including regulatory framework & requirements, legal frameworks, challenges, products, services, and competition.
* Influencing, Communication & Collaboration – Ability to influence and persuade the BCB and wider Group leadership teams and partners up to and including Group Executive Committee. Strong interpersonal skills & ability to communicate effectively across different audiences.
