About the role
We are looking to appoint an experienced Regional Commercial Sales Manager for the commercial side of Waste Management. You will need to visit customer sites, your team and our waste management operational sites. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will manage a geographical spread of Commercial Sales Managers. You and your team will be responsible for developing relationships with businesses and industries requiring support with managing the safe disposal of their organic wastes. You are responsible for ensuring that revenue and performance targets are achieved.
What you'll do
* Identify and secure sustainable sources of food waste feedstock for 5 allocated AD plants.
* Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure a consistent and commercially viable supply of food waste feedstock, optimising value in the market.
* Take responsibility for liquid feedstock input and associated seasonal variations, working with the commercial business team and other Regional commercial sales manager to ensure that AD facilities have the right type and volume of liquid input to enable processing.
* Monitor feedstock quality and quantity to meet the operational needs of the AD facilities in the area working with the commercial business team, public sector team and counterpart Regional Commercial Sales Manager.
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Region and nationally where required.
* Monitor and report on financial performance of customer contracts, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the feedstock.
* Ensure all feedstock procurement and management activities comply with relevant regulations and procurement standards and internal commercial governance.
* Support the development and implementation of five-year feedstock management strategies and plans.
* Host customer visits and tours of operating plants.
* Assist in PR and marketing exhibitions where required.
What you'll bring
* 5+ years’ experience in the waste sector undertaking B2B or B2C sales and account management, (including national accounts).
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
* Strong commercial background with practical experience in securing food and/or garden waste. contracts or other waste related feedstocks and managing supplier relationships.
* Ability to promote an organisation externally within their sector and to customers
* Knowledge of waste and recycling legislation and governance such as ABP legislation.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
