Further to retirements within the team, these posts offer an exciting opportunity to become part of services that are rapidly changing and developing.
The Service Manager working closely with Clinical Leads and Matrons together with the Clinical Business Unit (CBU) triumvirate, consisting of the Clinical Director, Associate Director of Operations and Associate Director of Nursing will provide operational expertise for the CBU, ensuring that national and corporate targets are met and that objectives are translated into operational plans to ensure high quality care is provided at all times.
We are looking for skilled and accomplished individuals with the ability to drive our vision for further improvement. You will need excellent influencing and negotiation skills, a proven track record of working closely with clinical colleagues and experience of delivering to standards and deadlines.
Now is a fantastic time to join the team with exciting developments underway within the CBU including expansion of our theatre complex and improved co-located adjacencies and staff facilities as well as the Health on the High Street project which will see a number of services relocate to the town centre to develop a health and wellbeing hub.
Main duties of the job
The successful postholder will work within the Clinical Business Unit for Surgery, Critical Care and Theatres and support a number of surgical services.
As Service Manager you will ensure the quality of care through efficiently and effectively managing your departments, this includes having responsibility for delegated financial resources, line management duties and delivery of key performance indicators.
To provide effective operational management, leadership, expertise, advice and support to the CBU to enable the delivery of CBU performance and business objectives. The role will work alongside matrons in ensuring that performance and business continues to deliver the highest quality of care to patients and their families to deliver National Targets.

* Understanding of the environment and activity issues related to the CSUs.
