If you are an experienced Extra Care or housing manager with a background in working with older people and mixed tenures, you may be just the person we are looking for. Village 135 is a large, modern, stylish community with 135 homes designed for those over 55 who need an extra care environment. Homes are available for sale, shared ownership, and rent. You will be working alongside our current manager to guide the service, forging close relationships with the local authority, care providers, and other partners to ensure everything runs smoothly.
You'll help keep our extra care scheme thriving by coordinating top-notch housing management support, care, bistro management, and other on-site services. Our goal is to make residents feel valued, promote independent living, and foster a sense of community through a great customer experience.
Residents can enjoy independent living in their own private apartments, with the peace of mind that comes from having a dedicated on-site care team and security. The Village also offers great communal facilities, including a wonderful Bistro Restaurant, a relaxing spa bathroom, and a Hair & Beauty Salon.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Work together with our existing manager to coordinate and lead the team to meet our goals.
2. Lead, manage, and inspire our housing teams to provide top-quality services to our diverse and bustling community. Always demonstrate professionalism and integrity, and make sure the voices of our customers are heard and valued.
3. Develop and implement strategies, policies, and practices to ensure we deliver high-quality services efficiently.
4. Take joint responsibility for the delivery of our extra care services across a busy, multi-tenure community.
5. Take joint responsibility in managing Village 135 and WCHG's extra care services, working closely with the local authority to provide housing and wellbeing support.
6. Ensure the ongoing success of our extra care schemes by jointly coordinating top-notch housing support, care, and other on-site facilities.
Located in the desirable 'Garden City' area of Wythenshawe in South Manchester, Village 135 is surrounded by shops, amenities, parks, and transport links. We encourage a full and active lifestyle for our residents, offering a variety of activities to enrich their lives, build friendships, and learn new skills.
To excel in this role, the successful applicant will need to have completed their CIH qualification or be willing to work towards one during their employment. They will also need the following key skills, knowledge, and experience:
1. Experience managing a busy, high density, multi-tenure extra care scheme.
2. Up-to-date knowledge of social housing laws and practices.
3. Familiarity with social housing policies and procedures.
4. Understanding of care provision in extra care settings.
5. A strong track record in social housing management.
6. Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
