We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of a Principal Social Worker, on a 1.5-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £28.99 - £38.57 per hour
Responsibilities:
* To lead and manage Safeguarding processes in order to protect and promote the wellbeing of adults at risk, children, carers, family members and vulnerable people by delivering high-quality Safeguarding practice and driving continuous improvement.
* To work in collaboration to deliver sustained improvements in performance, quality and consistency of practice across the team, thereby achieving the best outcomes possible for adults at risk, carers, families and vulnerable people.
* To develop innovative ways of working to ensure positive outcomes for adults at risk, carers, families and vulnerable people.
* To represent and promote Adult Safeguarding and Adult Services in relevant multi agency meetings.
* To ensure the transfer of knowledge and sharing of best practice across the Team, Adult Services and partner agencies.
Knowledge :
* Hold a Professional Social Work qualification e.g. Degree in Social Work or recognised predecessor equivalent or nursing, occupational therapy or police officer qualification.
* A sound understanding of the law relating to Adults
* Knowledge of the Social Services & Well-being Act (Wales) 2014
Experience:
* Significant post qualifying experience
* Experience of working with partner agencies, in multi-disciplinary settings.
* Experience of delivering learning opportunities.
* Evidence of innovative practice.
* Experience in preparing reports to the Court of Protection and/or to the Coroners Court.
* Experience of chairing multi-agency meetings that include adults at risk, their family and advocates.
* Experience of successfully facilitating good communication and liaison arrangements with other agencies.
* Experience of successful management of workload when under pressure, being able to work flexibly and re-prioritise tasks as necessary
