GSL Education are seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant in Romsey to provide tailored support to students in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and SEN professionals to implement individual learning strategies that enable students to reach their full potential. If you’re patient, understanding, and passionate about helping children overcome learning challenges, then this role is perfect for you What you have to do as a SEN TA: Offer one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs. Assist in creating and delivering tailored lesson plans to support individual progress. Encourage students’ social, emotional, and academic development. Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment. Support students with communication, sensory, and physical needs as required. Adapt teaching materials to accommodate different learning abilities. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators. Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources. Provide encouragement and motivation to help students build confidence and independence. SEN TA Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a relevant field is beneficial. Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a SEN setting. A CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is desirable but not essential. Understanding of SEN needs and effective behaviour management techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and committed to student development. An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
