To complete pre-planned maintenance and service of electrical equipment and engineering services within the Trust’s Establishments.
As a team member of a multi-disciplined workforce, you will undertake work associated with engineering plant, building fabric, and equipment within the Trust’s Establishments. You will follow departmental and Trust operating policies and procedures guided by building and Health & Safety Regulations. While working closely with the Estates Officer, you should also be capable of working independently without regular supervision.

Responsibilities:
* To undertake planned and reactive maintenance.
* To be responsible for tools, plant, and materials used within the scope of the Estates Department.
* To ensure that safety procedures are observed in the use of plant equipment, materials, and working procedures, maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
* To work outside your trade in the event of any emergency or as directed by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates/On Call Manager.
* To assist with the ordering of materials for all types of maintenance work.
* Respond to instructions given via the Estates maintenance reporting system. Complete any paperwork required to record time and materials used, and provide feedback to the Estates Officer on any further action required.
* To be able to drive and hold a clean current driving licence.
* Any other duties as delegated by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates relevant to the post/department.
* To participate in appropriate training as required by this position and determined by the Estates Management Staff.
* Taking account of H & S and current legislation, interpret technical information and operational manuals.
Planning & Organisational Skills:
* To be able to prioritize your own workload and manage responsibilities appropriately.
* Occasional, incidental, non-clinical telephone contact.
Responsibility for Policy and Service Development:
* Assist and provide support for processes, policies, guidance, SOPs, and maintenance of Mechanical & Electrical policies, guidelines, legislation, and statutory duties.
* Participate in the Trust’s staff survey as required.
Responsibility for Staff:
* No direct management of staff, although may have shared responsibility for training apprentices.
Responsibility for Information Resources:
* To ensure electrical inspection, testing, and maintenance records are maintained and updated.
* Maintain and provide assurance reports on the status of compliance with electrical requirements and statutory duties.
Responsibility for Research and Development:
* Carry out surveys, create and maintain records, reports, and other documents as necessary to support maintenance of the built environment for which responsible.
* Negotiate with departments for access to allow maintenance to be undertaken, explaining technical issues to non-technical staff.
* Ability to take on new learning relevant to new assets and equipment as part of the upgrade, replacement, and capital programme.
* Assist the Estates Officer in maintaining stock and supplies for the Estates Department.
* Participate in governance training as required.
* Work outside your trade in the event of an emergency or as directed by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates.
