We’re looking for an experienced Mid-Weight Interior Designer to join our thriving studio near Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire. This is a new role, as we expand our business to meet additional client project needs. Our studio is situated in a beautiful, listed barn in Winchmore Hill. The ideal applicant will be an enthusiastic and positive individual, confident in managing their own client projects on a variety of high-end commercial and residential projects. You will need your own car as we are situated in a rural location.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum of 3 year experience in the industry within a high-end residential design studio
· BA in Interior Design/Architecture (preferable but not essential)
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp
· Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
· Basic understanding of EstiMAC/EstiPC
· Full clean UK driving licence
Main responsibilities
· Manage projects across all aspects from concept design through to completion with oversight from a senior designer
· Prepare and contribute to detailed drawings, specifications and schedules for tender
· Ensure the smooth handover of the project to the client
· Contribute to developing design presentations to the client. This will include concept ideas, development of layouts and images all to be approved by the senior team member
· To specify products and materials
· To deal with contractors on-site and arrange studio and site visits throughout the project
· Attend supplier meetings
· Willingness to follow the studio’s processes and system
· Develop a strong relationship with suppliers
Personal skills
· Excellent design and technical skills
· To work well under pressure and to deadlines
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team, but also demonstrate independent thinking and problem-solving
· Proven budget management and procurement experience
· Proven experience in producing FF&E schemes
· Have a good design eye and natural creative instinct for colour and style
· Be able to work both creatively and commercially and understand the need to work to a client budget
· Strong written and verbal communication as you will be required to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and architects
· Be able to travel to clients within the UK and globally, as required
· Fluency in French would be advantageous
