Delta Academies Trust are looking to appoint a Director of Maths to join us in Easter 2025 on a full time, permanent basis.
Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for mathematics education and a drive to transform the learning experience for young minds? Delta Academies Trust is seeking a Director of Maths to join our dynamic team and make a lasting impact on the educational journey of students across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
Your new role
At Delta Academies Trust, we’re not just about numbers, we’re about creating an environment where maths becomes a cornerstone of success. As a high performing multi academy trust, with a track record of exemplary outcomes, our vision is clear: to revolutionise education in all our schools, changing lives and shaping futures. We believe in the power of strong leadership, innovative teaching, and a supportive community to unlock the potential of every student.
As the Director of Maths, you’ll be at the forefront of driving excellence in maths education; you’ll work closely with senior leadership and subject teams, fostering a culture of high achievement and inspiring both teachers and students. Your mission will involve leading and mentoring maths departments, enhancing teaching quality, and elevating student outcomes. You’ll help shape a forward thinking curriculum that engages students and sparks a lifelong love for maths. By using data driven insights, you’ll identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions to maximize student success.
At Delta, we share a standardised maths curriculum across all our academies, ensuring best practice in every academy. Our whole trust assessments, which are also standardised, provide a clear and accurate picture of student progress, allowing for targeted support where it is needed most. This collaborative approach ensures that every student benefits from the same rigorous and well structured learning experience, helping to drive achievement and close gaps in understanding.
Our maths education builds a strong foundation in understanding, reasoning, and problem solving, fostering enjoyment and curiosity. Each lesson begins with a personalised retrieval activity to reinforce previous learning, aiding fluency and confidence. Misconceptions are addressed early, ensuring smooth progression. New topics are linked to prior knowledge, and problem solving skills are developed incrementally. Lessons conclude with a demonstration task where student show their understanding, helping plan the next steps. This approach ensures students build a strong foundation and can apply maths across various subjects.
We offer a permanent, full time position with the opportunity to make a substantial impact on education. This role provides the chance to collaborate with a dedicated and experienced team of subject directors and educational leaders. You will be shaping the future of maths education and being part of a Trust that values innovation, excellence, and community.
If you’re ready to bring your expertise and passion for maths education to a role that offers both challenge and reward, we want to hear from you. Join us in our mission to ensure that every student, regardless of their starting point, can achieve their full potential and thrive.
