Senior/Principal Hydrogeologist (Flexible across UK), Epsom
This position is open for our Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Epsom, Glasgow, London, Oxford, Peterborough, and Warrington/Manchester offices, but we can be flexible with location.

You will play a key role in growing our business through winning and delivering work across our extensive client portfolio, enhancing our reputation for technical excellence.
As an experienced hydrogeologist, you will have delivered groundwater projects in the UK and/or internationally. You will collaborate closely with our technical specialists based in Birmingham, Epsom, Oxford, and Peterborough. Responsibilities:
Joining a well-established team, you will work with technical leads to win, deliver, and manage groundwater projects and develop trusted client relationships. You will promote high standards of performance and influence project development. As an experienced hydrogeologist, you will undertake your own work to an excellent standard, lead projects and bids as appropriate, and define and deliver project outputs, including complex problem solving. Collaborative teamwork is essential; you will work closely with the groundwater resources team and mentor junior staff.
Beyond hydrogeological assessments, you will contribute to broader projects related to water supply, strategic planning, resource optimization, and environmental assessment.
Requirements:
* Degree in science, engineering, or mathematics, with a postgraduate qualification in hydrogeology or a related field; likely chartered through a relevant professional body.
* Substantial experience as a hydrogeologist within consultancy, water company, regulatory, or academic sectors, including water resources hydrogeology and hydrology, WINEP investigations, signal and pumping tests, borehole design, groundwater flooding, or water resource planning.
* Good understanding of UK hydrogeology and the environmental/regulatory framework of UK water management.
* Experience leading projects through the entire project lifecycle, from problem definition to analysis, interpretation, and recommendations. Innovative approaches are encouraged.
* Highly motivated, proactive, with excellent numerical, analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills, and attention to detail.
* Effective communicator at all levels, capable of collaborative working and building strong client relationships.
* Valid full UK driving license.
We are also seeking a groundwater modelling specialist to lead groundwater modelling projects. The candidate should have delivered groundwater modelling projects in the UK, working closely with technical teams across our established offices.
