The Role
:
As a Senior IT Technician, you will oversee and maintain IT infrastructure while providing support for a range of IT systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Support all school-owned technology, including desktops, software, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
2. Evaluate and report on IT infrastructure to the IT Network Manager.
3. Deliver comprehensive user support, following helpdesk procedures and priorities.
4. Maintain clear communication with users throughout issue resolution.
5. Maintain and upgrade IT systems.
6. Monitor and report on IT and audio-visual hardware, software, and cabling performance.
7. Document IT hardware, software, and audio-visual equipment.
8. Test equipment and provide IT support for internal and external events.
9. Serve as an escalation point for first-line support staff, including the IT Apprentice.
10. Refer complex issues to the IT Network Manager.
Requirements:
11. Previously worked as an IT Technician or in a similar role.
12. Proven experience in supporting, developing, and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure.
13. Background working in the educational sector.
14. Familiarity with best practices, current products, and statutory requirements, including IT health and safety.
15. Understanding of Data Protection principles, including all aspects of the GDPR.
