As a Sessional Youth Support Worker, you will deliver 1.5- 2 hour sessions to young people involved with the NHS Cadet Programme (with one additional hour for flexible planning). The young people we recruit will undertake a programme of health-related volunteering sponsored by colleagues from NHS England; these young people will be recruited from marginalised communities from across the UK. The sessions delivered will provide development to young people's citizenship and will focus on a desire to work or volunteer in an NHS role in the future. You will work closely with a Project Lead and other Youth Support Workers to plan and deliver appropriate content and to adapt the delivery to the individual needs of the young people on your programme. The sessions will be delivered either face to face or at a partner NHS building or SJA building in a hybrid way or virtually during term time. Please note you will require flexibility to travel and work evenings/weekends where required.,
* Support with the recruitment of young people onto the programme
* Support the delivery of the NHS Cadets programme for young people
* Act as a support and point of contact for young people enrolled on the programme to ensure they maximise their opportunities for growth and development
* Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the programme runs smoothly and administrative duties are completed accurately and in a timely manner
Experience of delivering formal or informal training or activities to young people
* Experience of motivating young people who have low or unrealised aspirations
* Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor style to suit a variety of audiences
* High levels of IT literacy with a good knowledge of MS Office and remote working tools
