We are currently seeking a Building Safety Officer to join our Property Services team. In this role you will oversee building safety works across communal properties. Key responsibilities include contract administration, supervision of safety works, and ensuring projects meet safety specifications. The role will also involve assisting with the preparation of tender documents for compliance services, managing routine safety inspections, and resolving any fire safety equipment issues. The officer will assess maintenance needs across the Group and ensure the timely rectification of any faults or breakdowns.

Requirements
Outline of key responsibilities for the Building Safety Officer...
* To ensure all projects are carried out in accordance with the Groups standards and legislative requirements.
* To undertake day to day management of Compliance projects including taking corrective action where necessary and report regularly to the Senior Fire Safety Officer / Fire Safety Manager on the progress of individual schemes.
* To prepare programmes, risk assessments and manage implementation to the highest possible quality and safety standards.
* To ensure that work is carried out within the budgets and that value for money is achieved, by monitoring and reporting on performance
* To continuously identify ways of delivering the service in a more efficient and effective way
* To ensure that properties and communal and external areas are safe and comply with Health and Safety legislation
* To assist in the production of appropriate specifications and contract terms for the Group’s Compliance obligations
* To assist with the preparation of suitable tender documents including Preliminaries, Preambles, Schedules of Work, and a Form of Tender
We are looking for someone who has...
* Related experience or background in building safety or construction
* Proven experience of delivery of Investment Programmes on time and within budget
* Business acumen and commercial awareness with a proven ability to understand complex financial information and the impact on Business Plans
* Knowledge and experience of IT packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
* Ability to produce written reports and presentations that can present complex data and information in an accessible way to enable buy in from a range of audiences.
* Effective time management. Flexible and self-motivated - able to juggle a varied and broad workload and to meet deadlines, often under pressure.
* Working to set target time scales and deadlines
* Relevant qualifications such as: a Level 4 in Building Safety or Construction, or an equivalent certification, such as NEBOSH Fire Safety. Candidates who do not possess qualification will be required to achieve the award within their first 12 months of employment.
* Flexible approach to working hours in order to achieve work demand/priorities
* A valid UK driving license and a vehicle are required.
