Pulse seeks a determined and experienced Band 7/8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our client’s Learning Disabilities team within an NHS Client based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. This position will be available for the appointed candidate to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week on a locum basis.
This role is being offered at Band 8a to an experienced Clinical or Forensic Psychologist; however, applications are welcomed from newly/recently qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologists on a Band 7/8a preceptorship. The successful candidate will be able to progress to a Band 8a role within 18-24 months of appointment/post-qualification, on the condition of meeting agreed competencies.
The psychologist will join a vibrant and well-established clinical team consisting of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrists, Assistant Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietician, and Activities/vocational team.
As part of this specialist multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will hold responsibility for delivering behavioural, psychological, and forensic interventions to service users and support to the teams around them.
To be considered for this role, you must:
1. Be HCPC registered
2. Have a proven track record in working with mild to complex learning disabilities
3. Be analytical and show good attention to detail
