Our client is a global supplier in the design, manufacture, and support of machinery for various industries, heavily focused on aerospace. They have a steady growth plan and a longstanding workforce that has expanded over the years. Due to steady growth, they are looking for an additional Field Service Engineer to join the team.
The Field Service Engineer is a permanent post, working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. You’ll need to be flexible with start and finish times to meet business and customer needs, but flexibility will be given for early finish times where possible. Occasionally, you may be required to work weekends for which overtime would be paid. Our client understands that being out in the field is hard and ensures that you are looked after at all times, providing nice hotels, good expenses paid, transport, and adequate time to reach locations. What will this role of Field Service Engineer entail:
Reporting to the Service Manager and working as part of a team of skilled Service Engineers, you will regularly travel to customer sites in the UK and worldwide, commissioning new systems and supporting existing ones. When not on the road, you will support equipment build within the workshop located in the St Ives area. As part of our client's ISO9001 accreditation, they are committed to a documentation system integral to the working of the Service department.
Skills / Experience for the Field Service Engineer vacancy:
1. Proven experience as an electro-mechanical Engineer, with appropriate qualifications
2. Fault-finding skills
3. Good customer-facing and communication skills
4. A strong team player, able to both learn and transfer knowledge within the team
5. Be able-bodied
6. Full UK driving licence
7. Willingness and ability to travel across the UK and worldwide
Although not essential, experience in either Vacuum Systems and/or PLC programming is highly desirable.
