Business Unit Controller Job Purpose - To effectively manage and achieve sales growth across Power Tools (CPT), Accessories and Fixings (CAC), Home Products (HHD), Outdoor (OUT), Hand Tools and Storage (HTS) categories in line with business objectives and overall company guidelines. - To maximise all potential opportunities for new product listings and capture competitive business with focus on biannual catalogue selection meetings. - To define and action effective account development plans (both 'core' range and promotional elements) that deliver sustainable growth through effective category management. Key Responsibilities - Account service levels. - To design and implement account development plans and promotional programmes. - To effectively manage strategic planning and day-to-day account management in order to deliver the desired performance. - To ensure effective and timely implementation of SBD initiatives and objectives. - To negotiate range pricing and promotional deals. - To maintain high levels of awareness of market and competitor activity, customer trends and provide BUCs and other team members with this feedback. - To maintain a database of account information containing: trading terms, contacts, product range, pricing and margins. - To provide accurate sales estimates and alignment with product forecasts. - To ensure accurate recording of pricing accruals, SVBA's and non-contractual spend (in line with targets). - To monitor procedures to provide best possible customer service. - To involve and support SBD Customer service, Supply and Operations functions aligning commercial activities and plans. - To work with marketing colleagues to maximize on page and on-line impact of BLACK DECKER and Stanley ranged products. - To continually develop in-depth technical knowledge of product and marketplace. - To gain maximum account penetration and distribution of new products. - To build and lever horizontal and vertical customer relationships. Accountability - To achieve set sales targets and overall Stanley and Black and Decker business goals. - Key account sales growth: SKU profitability, promotional net margins, overall account profitability. - Key account performance: account penetration and distribution of new products, customer relationships. - Cost control and monitoring of personal expenditure. - Ongoing identification of new product ranging opportunities. Competencies & Skills - Maturity and experience to manage at key account level, involving the handling of senior account relationships - experienced buyers/sales managers. - Intelligent thinker, strategic planner, focused and priority driven. - Excellent personal negotiation/selling skills. - Strong motivation to achieve, well organized and structured approach. - Excellent presentation, negotiation and selling skills - promotes and sells persuasively. - PC Literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Good presentation skills. - Effective communicator both internal and external to Stanley Black and Decker. Requirements Formal Qualifications - Degree or equivalent level. - Good levels of maths and English are essential.
