Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) Clinical Navigator - Crawley/Ashford

• Band 7, £46,148 - £52,809 per annum (AfC) + Unsocial hours
• Location - Medway, Gillingham
• 6-week Full time Training Course then CCN mentoring period and completion of a six-month probationary period.
Here at the South East Coast Ambulance Service, we have an exciting opportunity for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our IUC clinical team as a CAS Clinical Navigator.
As a CAS Clinical Navigator, you will work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the IUC clinical team are delivering a high-quality health care service to patients.
Using your clinical knowledge, you will provide clinical guidance in the 111 Contact Centre to ensure patients receive the most appropriate advice and treatment based on their requirements. You will be responsible for the clinical risk assessment of patients and the navigation of cases to specialist clinicians as appropriate. Working closely with colleagues in 999 you will maintain a wider service perspective, reallocating resources as required to provide timely and appropriate care.
As well as this, you will be managing a team, so you will need to have proven and demonstrable experience of leading and developing a successful team, and developing individuals in their own right.
The role would suit an experienced Paramedic or Nurse who might also have a specialist practice qualification, for example Paramedic Practitioner, Critical Care Paramedic and Nurse Practitioner.
We are looking for the following:
• Permanent full-time contracts
• Rotas that include working weekdays, late afternoon into evenings, Saturdays and Sundays
Please note, this is a 24/7 role and there is a requirement to work a variety of shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Unsocial hours is payable in addition to the salary quoted, dependent upon working pattern.
• To provide clinical supervision and mentoring to the NHS Pathways call triage system and Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) Health Advisors
• To provide Line Management to Clinical Supervisors within the IUS contact centre and provide training, coaching and mentoring for Clinical Advisors and CAS Clinicians
• You will need to maintain the communication link between operational staff, Managers and Supervisors
The required skills and experience for this post are;
• You will be a current HCPC registered Paramedic or NMC Registered Nurse (or equivalent relevant experience)
• Minimum of three years’ post registration qualification as a paramedic/nurse (or equivalent relevant experience)
• You will have current leadership experience
• Be an excellent communicator
• Ability to train, mentor and coach clinical staff
