Hague Personnel has an exciting job opportunity available for a Maintenance Engineer to join a prestigious manufacturing company based in Hitchin (SG5). The role would suit an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias who has experience working in the Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing industry. Key responsibilities: To maintain equipment and site facilities ensuring a safe and fault-free operation. To undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance, inspection & calibration schedules. To ensure that all equipment / facilities related required health and safety standards are fully understood and implemented. To ensure that HSE Reports, Tests and Inspections for all pressure systems are completed as required. To ensure that all engineering machinery and work areas are properly cleaned and used for safe and efficient operation. To complete equipment and machinery logs after intervention as required. To participate in problem solving exercises as required. To assist in the continuous improvement of the department and the overall operations of the company. To assist with the co-ordination and supervision of external engineering contractors to ensure compliance with GMP and health and safety requirements. To ensure company and customer quality standards are met. To draw to the attention to any non-standard occurrences or events. Perform and review Risk Assessments as required. To manage Engineering support to provide full cover for Production, including opening and closing site safely and securely. This may involve some shift work. Maintain the asset register and track key KPIs for equipment performance and site services To undertake other site service activities as and when required. To deputise for the Lead Maintenance Engineer as required To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time. Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum dependant on experience Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 4.30pm with a 1 hour lunch break (39.5 hours per week) Please note from time to time you may be required to work flexible hours allowing maintenance operations to be performed outside core hours, and to provide maintenance support for extended production days. Contract: Permanent Holiday entitlement: 25 days per annum plus statutory bank holidays Skills Profile: Time Served and Qualified engineer with experience of maintaining both site services and production equipment in a pharmaceutical and / or food production environment Mechanical skills (Mandatory) Hydraulic skills (Desirable) Electrical skills (Desirable) Steam Supply and Vacuum Generation Systems experience (Highly Desirable) Understand Health, Safety and Quality requirements for the Food or Pharma industries (Mandatory) Ability to adapt quickly to meet operational needs. Results focused with strong planning and co-ordination skills to enable the best use of equipment to meet the production plan. Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate external resources as required in a planned and reactive manner as required.
