About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with students who have diverse needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual needs. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour. Help to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. Assist with personal care and mobility support where necessary. Monitor student progress and report observations to the teaching staff. Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure consistent support. Promote independence and self-confidence among students. SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Requirements: Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs as an SEN Teaching Assistant is essential. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance) is desirable. A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education or a similar field. A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to working with vulnerable students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
