Position Overview: The Vice President of Procurement will play a critical role in our strategic sourcing and supply chain management initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) for Europe, this executive leader will be responsible for overseeing the procurement strategy across the region, ensuring alignment with global objectives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
* Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and compliance standards.
* Lead and manage an executive team of 10 regional heads across Europe, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Global and Regional Sourcing:
* Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of materials and services required for pharmaceutical production.
* Optimize supply chain operations and supplier relationships to enhance performance and cost-efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment of procurement strategies.
* Act as a key liaison between regional teams and executive leadership, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
* Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards throughout the procurement process.
Travel Requirements:
* Engage in global travel of up to 10% annually to meet with suppliers and stakeholders.
* Conduct regional travel (approximately 30%) to oversee procurement activities and strengthen relationships with local teams.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large teams and driving performance.
* Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to adapt to a dynamic market environment.
* A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
