The post holder will be responsible for the design, capacity, availability, security and continuity of Network Systems and Services. They will provide expert advice on the design and implementation of Network aspects of ICT Solutions. The client This is a public sector client within the health industry - HSCNI. They've recently undergone a lot of IT modernisation, introducing new systems, upgrading software/hardware and are now looking an IT Manager to assist with looking after their network infrastructure. They're a good organisation to work for, with most seeking a permanent position after temporary contracts. About you Strong experience of managing network infrastructure - maintenance, troubleshooting, improvements etc. Experience of leading on the planning and implementation of configuration and installation of network hardware and software - working on network improvement projects. Experience of implementing network security protocols/standards. Hold CCNA certification or higher What you'll do Support the Director of Technology in the continued development and implementation of the ICT Strategy and annual work Programmes. Plan and develop network infrastructure strategies, together with the development of appropriate Regional networking and security policies and procedures, in line with guidelines. Lead on the design, implementation, development and support of the entire network infrastructure for the Service ensuring availability, capacity, security and continuity to meet present and future requirements. Plan the design, configuration and installation of network hardware and software, through recognised project management methodologies, to ensure that the operational requirements of the Service and its ICT Strategy are fully met. This will at times, require the post holder to assume the role of project manager / co-coordinator, for specific projects in which the post holder has particular expertise. Implement appropriate network security protocols / standards that enable network interconnects to be established and managed on the organisations digital service. Plan the design, configuration and implementation of appropriate mobile data interconnects required to support Service mobile data Solutions. Manage, diagnose and resolve technical problems (both hardware and software related) which may be reported by users of ICT systems throughout the Service. Develop appropriate security standards and working procedures, which will lead the Service towards gaining formal network security accreditation (e.g. ISO27001, NIS compliance etc.) Lead in the specification and procurement of network systems hardware and software, based upon recognised and agreed technical and industry standards, and to maintain accurate financial records of all purchases.
