Here at UPP we have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team to provide a planned and responsive maintenance service, specialising in building fabric repairs.
This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. The salary is £27,037 per annum.
Role responsibilities as a Maintenance Assistant include:
* Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and provide front line response.
* Ensure that the environment is maintained in accordance with the SLA, including keeping the site clean and clear throughout the year.
* Assist with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses, and furniture in a safe manner.
* Assist with statutory testing including fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning and emergency lighting checks.
* Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s).
* Participate in the on-call rota.

We are looking for you to have: experience in a similar role and environment, great communication and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job.
You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems, as well as a good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.
You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
