We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join us at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital in Sittingbourne. This comes at a time of transformation in mental health services under the community mental health framework and will give the successful candidate opportunities to work within mental health together + where there are new treatment pathways being set up with different interventions being offered to service users. This role will allow the clinician to focus on delivering these but also develop skills in working with the wider population. The post holder will receive support from an established team and regular supervision.
Main duties of the job
Mental Health Services Nationally are undergoing significant transformation under the Community Mental Health Framework. The role would include being involved in the assessment and management of various mental health conditions. There will be an opportunity to be involved in group work and the delivery of other OT interventions within the service. Training and support will be provided for this. We also encourage innovative ideas around group work and utilising the voluntary sector in supporting service users with activities of daily living and leisure interests in order to better manage their mental health. Your clinical competence and confidence is important to us, but in equal measure with your genuine kindness and compassion for your colleagues and patients.

To work effectively as a clinician in mental health together+ ensuring that patients referred for assessment experience a smooth pathway through the referral, diagnosis and treatment process.
