Edmonton PCN is creating a bank of medical receptionists for its HUB in the Angel Surgery. We are a growing organisation aiming to provide an exceptional service to our patients in Edmonton.

Mon-Friday: 17:00-20:30
Sat: 08:30 - 17:30
***Must be able to work above shifts, any candidate who cannot will be rejected.
Effective patient administration and reception services is an essential part of providing good, timely, and safe service to our patients. The primary responsibilities of this post are to provide comprehensive, effective, and flexible clinical administrative support within the practice to help support clinicians. We are looking for a candidate who is also willing and able to work with the practice team to develop new ways of working within primary care.
The purpose of the role is to:
* Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
* Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
* Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
* Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.
Duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Management team, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
* Opening up/locking up of practice premises.
* Competent use and understanding of the practice appointments system.
* Handling personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultations.
* Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail including e-mail.
* Filing and retrieving paperwork.
* Computer data entry/data allocation and collation.
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members, and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
* Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required.
Job Types: Permanent, Zero hours contract
Pay: £10.50-£11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
Ability to commute/relocate:
* London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
Experience:
* Medical Receptionist: 1 year (preferred).
Work Location: In person
