This is a rare opportunity to join a professional and successful global team within Digital Business Automation at HSBC’s Chief Technology Office, with approximately 280 staff in multiple locations around the globe. We are responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for several critical products across the organisation, as well as ensuring their availability, recoverability, and security.
This role is for a senior engineer within the Workflow Orchestration and Workload Automation team, working on the Control-M product.
This product has multiple instances in different countries for which we are accountable for and these support many Important Business Services within the organisation.

Role Expectation
* Develop a product roadmap in collaboration with the Product Owner, technical team, and Architects to align to business strategy.
* Contribute to defining a Cloud strategy for Control-M
* Demonstrate extensive knowledge on handling installation, upgrades and maintaining Control-M infrastructure, agents, and modules.
* Work with relevant parties to determine funding requirements for the product to facilitate its development.
* Deliver optimised ways of working that allow the bank to leverage best value from its contract with the vendor.
* Contribute to funded programmes of work that may require new instances of Control-M to be built or upgraded, and/or existing workload to be migrated from one instance to another.
* Help to instil best practice and optimised ways of working across the product engineers.
* Understand of ITIL principles and Service Management Frameworks.
* Adhere to HSBC policy, procedures, and control requirements applicable to day-to-day working.
Skills Required
Essential
* Significant experience in Control-M within a senior role
* Demonstrable experience of product upgrades, installations, fixes across the entire Control-M product stack
* Extensive knowledge of Control-M Agent installation, configuration, and deployment activities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
* Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to translate complex technical information into an engaging and understandable format for customers and business leaders.
* Working experience in Agile methodologies.
* Highly skilled in complex problem solving, critical thinking, applying judgement, building consensus, and decision making.
* Leading and delivering change to processes and systems.
* A strong level of IT literacy, including a broad knowledge of IT infrastructure (operating systems, networking, security).
* Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment.
Desirable
* Experience of operating Control-M in a Public Cloud Service Provider environment such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
* Experience implementing and managing Logging, Monitoring and Alerting framework, using such tools as Splunk, AppDynamic, Truesight or Thousand Eyes.
* Knowledge in production support, release management, delivery artifacts and delivery management.
* Good Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows, and iSeries/AS400 Platforms.
