The salary for this role is £54,376 (inclusive of a Market Premium Payment (MPP), and onsite working is expected for 4 days each week.

Job Description
This role can be based at any of the following sites: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
The Role

As Waste Monitoring and Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that your behaviour promotes the safety, health and welfare of yourself and your colleagues. You will be actively promoting UKAEA’s values, championing a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion and monitoring UKAEA, contractors and tenants’ performance against UKAEA site rules and legislative requirements (including, but not limited to; The Waste Producers Duty of Care, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Waste Regulations and Hazardous Waste Regulations).
Additional Responsibilities:
* Provide training, information and advice to UKAEA, contractors and tenants, to enable all site users to comply with waste legislation relevant to their operations.
* Act as the Contract Project Manager for 3rd party service providers, such as the office and food waste disposal contract.
* Collect appropriate operational data, generating reports and progress updates for external regulators and UKAEA’s Waste Committee regarding waste performance against agreed targets.
* Review and implement improvements to existing waste monitoring and reporting procedures.
* Represent and promote H3AT’s innovative offerings and technical specialisms both internally and externally.
* Provide support to and/or deliver projects by providing technical leadership.
* Work in accordance with UKAEA policy and undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties requested by your manager.
Qualifications
* Educated to HNC or equivalent in a related discipline.
* Member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management or other relevant professional institute.
* Demonstrable experience of project management.
* Knowledge and understanding of UK waste legislation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to constructively interact with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the business.
* Demonstrably proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
