Role Overview
As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the educational and emotional growth of students with diverse needs. You’ll work closely with support staff, parents, and other professionals to design and deliver individualized learning programs tailored to help each child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Tailored Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the specific learning needs of students with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, and other challenges.
* Classroom Management: Establish a structured, inclusive, and positive learning environment to support the development of all students.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to implement and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Progress Monitoring: Assess and track student progress, refining teaching strategies as necessary to ensure academic and personal growth.
* Supportive Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, sharing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
* Promoting Independence: Foster the development of life skills and self-reliance in students wherever possible.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: At least one year of experience teaching children with special educational needs.
* Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, ideally with a specialization or experience in SEN.
* DBS: Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
* Skills: Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
* Empathy and Patience: A caring and understanding approach, with a strong passion for supporting children with SEN.
* Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic school environment.
