As a supplier of key UK infrastructure, we require a
Continuous Improvement Specialist to work out of our Hull site. This company is key to the UK's trade with the world, making us a vital asset of the UK private sector.
The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for working across the business to simplify and standardise end-to-end business processes and improve business outcomes.
Collaborating with business-wide stakeholders, they will play a pivotal role in leading end-to-end process improvement projects, ensuring opportunities are quantified to support prioritisation and processes are redesigned to enhance productivity and drive value for the business and its customers.
As part of a growing business-wide function, the Continuous Improvement Specialist will be a champion for change and collaboration, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and define and design process improvements. They will engage positively and problem-solve with a structured and practical approach to deliver business value.
Working closely with the Head of Business Process Improvement to:
1. Lead end-to-end process improvement projects, deploying a CI structured approach.
2. Define and agree the approach, scope, and deliverables of each review, working closely with the relevant Business Process Owner/s and leadership team members.
3. Plan and manage project activities to time and budget, liaising with internal/external stakeholders as necessary.
4. Design and lead engaging cross-functional workshops as required.
5. Map and evaluate existing business processes, identifying key pain points and issues, measuring process performance through data analysis and quantifying improvement opportunities to support business prioritisation.
6. Re/Design end-to-end processes and define requirements to deliver the desired business outcome.
7. Analyse costs and benefits of proposed changes to the business process to determine their overall impact on the organisation.
8. Engage with stakeholders to ensure that they are kept up to date and that they are bought into the change process, working closely with the Change Manager.
9. Guide and manage the work of Business Process Analysts assigned to improvement reviews.
10. Design, implement, and monitor process performance goals and measures, supporting Business Process Owners to track benefits realisation.
11. Partner with IT and functional teams to identify automation candidates.
12. Work with other Business Process Specialists ensuring cross-functional process issues are understood collectively.
13. Prepare and deliver progress and management reporting as required.
Qualifications and key skills:
1. Graduate degree or equivalent professional certification.
2. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar.
3. Good understanding of project delivery methodologies (e.g., Prince, Agile & Scrum).
Experience:
1. Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience of effectively engaging to drive change.
2. Substantial practical business experience with proven background in delivering value through process standardisation and optimisation.
3. Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
4. Ability to assess process performance and promote data-led decision-making.
5. Experience of deriving business cases for change and effective tracking of benefits demonstrating value to the business.
