Job Overview: Our client, a young, dynamic company specialising in designing, installing, and maintaining high voltage systems are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join their team in a high voltage electrical engineering business. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation, testing, and maintenance of our high voltage systems, contributing significantly to their efficient and safe operation.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Collaborate with design engineers to develop comprehensive commissioning plans for new high voltage systems.
4. Conduct on-site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of high voltage equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
5. Perform pre-commissioning checks to guarantee the integrity of safety measures before system activation.
6. Efficiently manage the commissioning process, adhering strictly to project schedules and budgetary constraints.
7. Oversee the installation and integration of high voltage systems, coordinating effectively with subcontractors and project teams.
8. Conduct rigorous functional and performance testing of equipment to ensure optimal operation.
9. Identify and address technical issues promptly during commissioning, liaising with design and installation teams as required.
10. Prepare meticulous commissioning reports, documenting test results and system performance comprehensively.
11. Provide valuable technical support and guidance to clients throughout the commissioning process.
12. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices for high voltage systems.
Qualifications and Skills:
13. Minimum of 3 years' experience in commissioning high voltage systems, preferably in power transmission and distribution. HNC desirable.
14. Profound understanding of electrical engineering principles and high voltage equipment.
15. Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and practices (e.g., NETA, IEEE, IEC).
16. Proven experience in testing and troubleshooting various high voltage equipment, including generators, transformers, and switch gear.
17. Proficiency in utilising specialised commissioning tools and equipment.
18. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
19. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
20. Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organisational capabilities.
21. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritise responsibilities.
