Fundraising & Communications Professional, Christian Charity c£26 – £28,500 + bens
This Christian charity based in Yorkshire is looking to recruit an experienced Fundraiser and Communicator to join their successful team to work with the organisation and to be responsible for their fundraising efforts and help drive income streams across the board (Major Donor, Events, Legacy, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate). The charity are well established and highly flexible with regards to the role (and what to call it!) and offers the opportunity for home-working when there is no need to be “in the office” as well as being out and about on the road, building relationships with current and new potential supporters and donors.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy that builds a strong case for support, well aligned to the charity’s vision and objectives
* To develop and implement a plan to maintain, support and grow existing supporter engagement, including prayer, one off, regular and legacy giving
* To identify new potential individual and church supporters, devising strategies for engagement and development
* To develop partnerships with supporters on a local and national basis for both funding and gifts-in-kind
* To develop long-term relationships with key supporters, organising events, information opportunities and ongoing engagement with the charity
* To support the development of high-quality materials, appeal letters and reports, working with the CEO and Marketing and Communications Specialist to maximise opportunities for engagement
* To support data collection and processing, working to ensure the charity’s compliance with all applicable fundraising and data regulations, as well as helping us to work towards best practice in these areas
* To represent the charity at conferences, exhibitions and other events to profile the work and ministry
* To ensure, in conjunction with the CEO, the speaking and preaching opportunities within the UK are effective and engaging
* To build a team of trained volunteers/advocates for the charity’s ministry nationally
Ideally you will have professional fundraising experience in one or more area, but this role could also suit a candidate looking to work in the charity sector with a demonstrable background in Business Development, Communications and/or Marketing who has good experience in writing proposals and in face to face / telephone contact with customers / supporters. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your writing and communication style to suit the audience. Strong IT literacy and knowledge of the MS Office suite of applications are essential as is a database experience and a good knowledge of research and administration methods. You are positive, proactive in mindset above reactive, cheerful of disposition and a good team player. In addition to these skills, you also have a strong Christian Faith as it is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder will be a practising Christian. Salary dependent upon experience c£25,000 – £28,500 + benefits.
