PositionOverview
* TheHotel Sales Manager is primarily responsible for developing newbusiness opportunities whilst assisting in the management of theHotels Corporate / Leisure / MICE accounts.
* TheSales Manager will also assume responsibility for the overallmanagement of the administration function within the Salesdepartment.
* All duties that are carried outshould be conducted to the highest standard and in accordance withthe hotel standards; company policies & procedures;objectives and legalrequirements.
Mainresponsibilities
GuestCentric
* To present aprofessional friendly and efficient impression of the Hotel at alltimes.
* To ensure that all tasks relating toguest comfort guest satisfaction or the impression the guestreceives of the Hotel must be treated with utmostpriority.
* To establish a good workingrelationship with your guest visitors and colleagues creating ateam that works well together and with otherdepartments.
* Contributes to guest satisfactionat all times by providing high quality personalized servicesthroughout their stay.
* To assist asrequired/requested with the solving of any guest feedback and to beable to handle them in the most efficientmanner.
* Have knowledge of the facilities andservices events offered by the hotel and the surrounding area andactively promotethem.
Operations
* Tomaximize accommodation room sales and incremental revenue forsupplementary departments such as food & beverage andMICE.
* To achieve key performance relating toappointments client interaction & accountdevelopment.
* Achieve new business targets andmanage an agreed portfolio of accounts in order to retain anddevelop the business.
* Attend and assist withinhouse marketing activities familiarization trips clienthospitality evenings presentations show rounds and promotionalactivities.
* Produce accurate rapid costcalculations and respond to clients withquotations.
* Produce required reportsof completed sales activity including details of face to faceclient appointments presentations familiarization trips and anyother related clientinteraction.
* Update and maintain allmarket segment sales contact lists and account information in ANAISor other systems as directed.
* Coordinate andexecute all direct mailings as instructed by the Director of Sales& Marketing and Senior SalesManager.
* Conduct Market research/telesalescampaigns as required.
* Compile sales packs andensure that an adequate supply of relevant stationary brochuresgiveaways are in stock.
* To research andidentify new business opportunities through leads referred byreservations/ conference teams and business listingspublications.
* Assist with office administrationensuring all accounts have on file the necessary documentationcontracts contact forms and up to date Account Development Plans.Each account is to have a complete and up to date AccountDevelopment Plan.
* Ensure constant familiaritywith the hotels financial position and selling strategy versusprevious year and current budget.
* Maintainawareness of the hotels key competitors financial performance oftheir client interaction their key account base and correspondingrates and any property developments.
* To workclosely with the Accor Sales Network in order to assist with theachievement of the overall sales target for thehotel.
* To attend Sales meetings weekly& monthly.
* Carry out Sales Trips to allbusiness areas as specified both domestically and internationallyas required.
* Carry out any other reasonabletasks as required by the Director of Sales & Marketing orSenior SalesManager.
GeneralAdministration
* Toattend fire refresher training programs periodically and to ensurethat the hotels and departments fire procedure isunderstood.
* To respond to any changes in thedepartment as dedicated by the needs of the industry company orhotel.
* Any suspicious activity or anythingunusual must be reported immediately to the Supervisor/DutyManager.
* To be flexible extend and carry outjob duties including redeployment to alternative departments/areasif required.
* To be flexible with the rota beavailable to cover shifts over the weekend or during thenight.
* Responsible for reporting immediately tothe Director of Sales & Marketing Senior Sales Manager orany other appropriate Department Head anything which consideredbeing a health and safetyhazard.
Talent& CultureResponsibilities
* Establishongoing On Job Training Programs within the department to meetBrand and Service Standards. Use Department Procedure Manuals as abase for all service procedures training.
* To beable to promote the hotel brand philosophy through his or herexemplary behaviours and excellent communicationskills.
* Polite and professional attitude tointernal and external guests as well as colleagues andsuperiors.
* To take pride in doing the job welland to be a keen and motivated member of the Sales &Marketingteam.
Other
* Tobe aware and show involvement in Planet 21 hotel and departmentrole and activities.
* Participate in monthlyperformance review in onetoone meetings with the Director of Sales& Marketing or GeneralManager.
* Internal cross training to beconducted in all other hotel departments for different positions togain a general knowledge of the hotel operation as a wholeunit.
* To actively contribute to the qualitativeand quantitative targets of thedepartment.
