Join us and make a difference to the health and wellbeing of children and young people in the Manchester area We are CFK, a project within the Collaborative Health Community (CHC) charity, and we're on a mission to improve children's health by inspiring children and their families to eat more real foods, the way nature intended Following a successful first pilot in a school on the South Coast of England, we are now partnering with another charity based in the Manchester area who share our passion for improving the health and wellbeing of children through nutrition and physical activity. In arguably one of the most important voluntary roles within the Collaboration for Kids (CFK) project, you will be responsible for delivering our fun and interactive nutrition-based intervention to a group of Primary School children ( 8-10 year olds ) and their families. Delivering innovative and engaging 'Collaboration for Kids' (CFK) sessions to 8-10 year olds and their families, designed to inspire them to eat more real foods to support a happy, healthy and active life · Working in a small, supportive and friendly team, you will deliver our pilot intervention through bi-weekly face to face sessions in a 'family afterschool club' starting in October 2024. Building relationships with the children and families and supporting in the collection of baseline and post intervention data, providing feedback and learnings to assist in continuous improvement and innovation. To be successful in this role you will: · Have experience delivering educational sessions / resources / programmes to Primary School aged children · The ability to build rapport, engage and inspire children in this age group · Have a genuine and visible passion for nutrition and changing the eating behaviours of children · Have a qualification, or working towards a qualification in nutrition/dietetics/health and lifestyle coaching ( ideal but not mandatory ) · Be organised and structured in your approach and delivery style, ensuring CFK materials and key messages are consistently delivered · Have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both visual and verbal) and fluency in English What difference will you make? The impact you will have in this role is huge and extremely important. You'll be 'on the ground' working closely with educators, parents/carers and children to co-create interventions to change the eating habits of our children and future generations Availability We are aiming to deliver a series workshops during the school autumn and winter term (on a bi-weekly basis), therefore, are looking for someone who will be able to support this. If you can't do every week but can do most, we'd still love to hear from you. You will need to be available from 3pm until around 4.30pm every other Wednesday starting after half term and we will provide full training.
