To build positive relationships with both student and parents/carers. As an ASC Teaching Assistant you will: Motivate, engage, and encourage the pupil(s) by providing individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs. Assist in developmental areas, e.g. speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation etc. Promote the acceptance and inclusion of the pupil with SEN and encourage pupils to interact with each other appropriately. Monitor the pupil’s response to the learning activities and modify or adapt the activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve intended outcomes. Under the direction of the teacher, carry out and report on systematic observations of pupils to gather evidence of their knowledge, understanding, and skills. Know and apply school policies on Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning, Equal Opportunities etc. Comply with legal and organisational requirements for maintaining health, safety, and security in the learning environment. About Stafford Hall School: Stafford Hall offers a family-like children’s home with a small school that delivers a full curriculum experience reflecting the pupils' learning needs, interests, sensory needs, and regulation strategies. Located in Halifax, Stafford Hall School accommodates 12 pupils and can teach up to 20 young people aged 11 to 19. We support young people with autism and learning difficulties, striving to improve relationships to ensure they feel valued and safe.
