Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role We have an exciting opportunity to join our Supply Chain team, sitting within our SSEN Transmission Procurement and Commercial team, focussing on Overhead Line and Underground Cable. We'll tailor the role to your experience, offering the position as either Category Manager or Senior Category Manager, developing and implementing key procurement and supply chain solutions across a range of projects and portfolios in our Networks Transmission business. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Category Manager will support project teams and business unit stakeholders by developing strategic category plans, procurement strategies and contracts, and by providing robust pre and post contract management including supply chain engagement to support business goals and objectives. You will - Take ownership of specific category area and be direct point of contact for Transmission customers ensuring supply chain intel is owned, developed and presented in a coordinated and concise manner. - Lead the interface between Transmission and our Group Category Management teams to ensure demand requirements are collated and communicated to assist group wide procurement strategies and contracts, whilst collating and consolidating supply chain intelligence required for Transmission project teams. - Ensure Transmission procurement strategies are incorporated within group-wide category plans, provide support to group-wide procurement events by coordinating Transmission information and requirements, monitor and report on procurement events and provide contract/framework information to Transmission Customers, - For ad-hoc tendering events that are Transmission specific, undertake full range of tendering activities for events which fall within subject area. This will include the collation of tender documentation, management of tender process, commercial analysis of contract/tender submissions, the negotiation and drafting of specific contract terms and recommending the appropriate contract award - Undertake supply chain management activities, have oversight and ownership of supplier engagement for allocated suppliers and assist with supply chain performance management; collation of KPI data and production of KPI reports to help in assessment of supplier performance You have - Relevant and relatable degree; for example Quantity Surveying or CIPS - Experience in managing supply chain activities, it would be great if you had knowledge or experience within the construction sector. - Experience of managing frameworks/contracts on significant projects or programmes of work. - Experience of the procurement process, including strategy development and implementation, ideally within a regulated / UCR environment but this is not essential. - Experience of NEC forms of contract, including contract drafting and contract administration as well as framework management and supply chain management.
