Principal Engineering Analyst - Structural

About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across a number of sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design, to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.
About the role
The Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear, Defence and Civil division are recruiting a Principal Engineering Analyst to be part of the Structural Analysis team delivering projects within the nuclear industry. The role will involve performing analysis focused on Finite Element Analysis, delivering analysis packages, developing client relationships, and increasing opportunities across the Defence Nuclear sector.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct analysis with appropriate verification and validation.
* Review analysis conducted by junior team members.
* Mentor and support professional development of junior team members.
* Produce and review design calculations supporting analysis.
* Produce high quality documentation tailored to the specific stage of project completion.
* Lead analysis teams on projects.
* Prepare bids and estimates.
* Work within a multidiscipline environment ensuring effective communication with project stakeholders.
Requirements:
* Experience in conducting, leading and delivering analysis in highly regulated industries.
* Understanding of the contribution of analysis to nuclear Safety Cases.
* Detailed understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
* Experience using LS-DYNA is preferred.
* Experience in Soil-Structure-Interaction (SSI) is preferred.
* Chartered status and post graduate experience in the nuclear sector is beneficial.
* Previous experience working on relevant projects.
