An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, professional, and versatile individual to join the Service Department based at our Preston site working on a rotating shift pattern as follows:
1. Week 1: Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm.
2. Week 2: Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm.
3. 1 in 3 Saturdays from 7am to 1pm.
Reporting to the Service Reception Supervisor, the main job function will be to receive customers, identify and progress routine service and repair requirements, and promote the sale of service and accessories within the limits of technical ability.
Other duties within the role will include:
1. Promoting and maintaining excellent customer relations by advising customers of work progress or additional work requirements and dealing with customer queries.
2. Discussing and identifying routine service and repair requirements with customers, obtaining detailed background information to assist specialized personnel in diagnosis/testing/inspection.
3. Recording in detail customer requests for workshop action and obtaining authority to proceed.
4. Preparing detailed test/diagnosis reports for quotations, estimates, or job card development and maintaining up-to-date customer/workshop records.
5. Promoting and effecting the sale of workshop repair and service facilities.
6. Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your manager.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
1. Must have previous experience of working in the Automotive industry.
2. Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
3. Previous experience of working within the commercial vehicle industry and/or a service role would be preferred.
4. A friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills.
5. Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team as well as on their own initiative.
6. IT literate with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
7. Have a full and current UK driving licence.
