We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Ward Clerk team on Ward One at Berwick Infirmary.
The individual should have excellent communication, customer care, organisational, and interpersonal skills. They should be able to provide a reception service, acting as the first point of contact via the telephone and face-to-face for patients, visitors, and other healthcare professionals.
The post holder will be required to input data regarding all admissions, transfers, and discharges on the Patient Administration System (PAS). Basic keyboard/computer skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision are essential.
ECDL and NVQ Customer Care would be desirable. The successful candidate must have the willingness to undertake training for the role.
The post holder must be flexible to meet the needs of the service and to cover annual leave.
Responsibilities:
1. To provide a reception service, acting as the first point of contact on the telephone or face-to-face for patients, visitors, and other healthcare professionals.
2. To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
3. To input data regarding all admissions, transfers, and discharges onto the Patient Administration System.
4. To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors, and patients.
