We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager for the UK & Ireland region, with a big passion for regulatory and biscuits. We offer you the opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission to bring ‘Happiness with every bite’.
What will this role achieve?
This is a very exciting opportunity to ensure the legal compliance of all pladis products sold within UK&I. Your goal will be to provide sound regulatory information and advice to support product launches and re-designs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring the compliance of the products with local regulations and internal policies.
You will be reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and Specifications for UK & Ireland.
What will be your key deliverables?
* Ensure regulatory compliance of pladis products in UK & I regarding ingredients, product formulation, claims and packaging in line with local regulations and pladis policies.
* Working closely with R&D teams from different sourcing locations to check ingredient and recipe compliance to UK & I regulations.
* Understand the allergen matrices and apply accordingly to ensure accurate information is being conveyed for the consumer and packs are labelled with accurate allergen warnings.
* Represent the Regulatory Affairs team where appropriate in project team meetings with a specific remit to advise on regulatory compliance requirements of products.
* Reviewing and approval of advertising and other brand communications.
* Issues management and regulatory risk assessments.
* Horizon scanning - keep abreast of development and trends in foods, health and packaging regulations and local and international policies that could impact our business.
* Represent pladis in the local trade associations, drive the Company agenda and develop common positions and communications which can support the business.
Essential
* Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or other food science-based degree, with at least 4-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs departments.
* A knowledge/understanding of EU and UK Food Legislation, guidelines and codes of practice.
* Knowledge of EU and UK Packaging Legislation as it would apply to the pladis portfolio, foods and food contact materials.
* Knowledge of ingredients, process methods and factories producing biscuits and chocolate.
* Hands on, able to manage dynamic & complex changes and willing to take up challenges.
* Excellent attention to detail and on-time delivery of the tasks.
* Good communication and influencing skills, proactive demeanour.
* Proven project management and implementation skills will be essential, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
* High level of digital literacy & proficiency in using web-based specification systems.
* Strong numeracy skills.
* Works autonomously, but also a good team player.
Desirable
* Experience using SAP.
* General awareness of the biscuit industry.
* Knowledge of ingredients, process methods and factories producing biscuits.
