My Public Sector client based in the Charnwood, North of Leicestershire, requires a Business Support & Administration Officer to join the busy Democratic Services department. The role is to support in an uplift of work and the hours are full time, 30 per week. The hourly rate for the role is £11.44 per hour. The main outline of the role is: Job Purpose To provide administrative and general support for the following service areas as and when business needs require, Democratic Services, Election and Electoral Services and Legal Services Supporting the Head of Democracy through providing administrative tasks relevant to their role and will include matters relating to the Local Resilience Partnership (LRF) and Health and Safety matters. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Provide administrative and general support (including highly sensitive and confidential work) to the Head of Service, including diary management, arranging meetings, updating records and producing correspondence. Develop and maintain relevant web and intranet information. Co-ordinate and book training sessions and events for senior managers relating predominately to Resilience but may include other appropriate training Undertake work ancillary to the business dealt with by committees, sub-committees, partnerships and working groups without supervision and undertaking related research. Assist with administrative cover for the legal services team Assist with compilation, publication and maintenance of the Electoral Register including the Absent Voters lists, in accordance with current regulations. To assist with the maintenance of the electoral registration database, including data from applications and administering changes to records. Assist with the organisation and arrangements for all work necessary to ensure the proper conduct of Borough, Parish, County, Police & Crime Commissioner, UK Parliamentary Elections, and all referendums. Assist with the preparation of documents and stationery required for proceedings at all electoral events, including but not limited to Ballot Boxes, Poll Cards and opening of Postal Votes.
