Support Workers - Personal Support Services Job description Are you looking for a rewarding role in social care supporting customers in their own home as part of our Independent Living Communities? The City of York Council's Personal Support Services are now recruiting for some great part time opportunities within Glen Lodge and across other Personal Support Service Schemes. You may have limited experience or qualifications in this field, but we are happy to work with you to reach the standard required to develop into an excellent Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you will be supporting customers living in their own homes within York delivering personal care and promoting daily living skills to enable customers to maximise their independence. The duties are varied, so no two shifts will be the same. Key skills and experience required: Good communication skills Ability to record defensible documentation. Work within a team/able to use your own initiative. Able to administer medication. Confidence to work with other professionals and families. Commitment to identifying personal development and attend mandatory training. You will be supported by the organisation to work within the legal framework i.e. safeguarding/CQC and given the training and support you need, such as obtaining a desired qualification in health and social care.
