We’re looking for an experienced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Data Officer to join our GIS Data and Consultancy team. The successful candidate will be part of a small team of GIS Data Officers. You'll be tasked with helping properties maximise their potential for contributing to the National Trust’s ambition to create bigger, better, and more connected landscapes for nature, people, and climate. As a GIS Data and Consultancy Team, we lead on creating organisational value from data; ensuring our enterprise spatial data is trusted, understood, well governed and that we maximise the value from data to deliver our strategy. Although geographically dispersed, the team are strong on working collaboratively and sharing the load. Your contractual location will be our York Hub and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview. The role may also involve travel to properties or other regional hubs. What you'll be doing Working as part of an experienced team of GIS professionals you will be jointly responsible for managing key ecological datasets. These include habitat survey and intervention data that are used within our critical business systems, underpinning analysis which supports strategic decision making. You’ll be working to meet client requirements aligned to our strategic priorities. The role will include a substantial element of technical GIS data editing and maintenance, geospatial problem solving and producing cartographic outputs. Who we're looking for We’d love to hear from you if you have experience in: capturing, organising, and interpreting GIS data using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online (AGOL). producing cartographic outputs tailored to client requirements while ensuring compliance with defined standards. managing, analysing and interpreting ecological data successfully working in both a team environment and independently to solve spatial problems. thriving in a dynamic, task focussed setting, where balancing client relationships and diverse priorities is essential to maintaining exceptional service standards.
