About The Role The London Borough of Bexley is looking for someone to join a small but busy team, responsible for the Social Housing Register in Bexley. The successful candidate will work effectively with colleagues, maintaining the housing and transfer registers, ensuring those assessed as eligible are correctly banded and have evidenced their right to bid for Social Housing. The work carried out by this team is underpinned by Housing Legislation, Local Policy and partnerships with our Partner Housing Associations. To operate, the Allocations Team liaise with colleagues within the wider Housing Options Service as well as maintaining relationships with other Council services and a wide range of other stakeholders. Candidate Profile We are looking for an excellent communicator, with good ICT skills who is adept at managing a considerable caseload, whilst contributing to the wider functions of the team and covering the team “in-box” and busy “phone line” on a rota basis. This role operates a hybrid model with all staff expected to attend the Civic offices for a minimum of 1 day per week, increasing on direction of the Service Manager and Team Leader when demand dictates.
