Location: UK-wide (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £45,000-£50,000 base + pension contribution, car/car allowance, and competitive bonus structure

My client, a leading supplier of mobile traffic products, is seeking a talented and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team. This pivotal role focuses on driving revenue growth within the highways sector through the development and supply of innovative products and services.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with my client's specialist, tested range of mobile traffic products, fostering relationships with both established and newly identified clients to support strategic business growth. The role emphasizes face-to-face interaction with customers across the UK to promote product sales and build long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth: Generate new sales in line with company growth targets.
2. Client Engagement: Develop strong commercial relationships with key decision-makers and procurement teams.
3. Product Promotion: Conduct engaging 'lunch and learn' presentations to highlight product features and benefits.
4. Sales Management: Prepare and deliver sales quotations and commercial offers aligned with the product portfolio.
5. Forecasting: Collate and assist revenue projections for monthly forecasting.
6. Technical Solutions: Collaborate with the Applications Team to provide tailored technical solutions to clients.
7. CRM Maintenance: Keep CRM systems updated with records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
8. Marketing Support: Offer technical insights for the creation of marketing literature and targeted campaigns.
9. Events and Networking: Attend meetings, trade shows, and exhibitions to promote products and services effectively.
Essential Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications
1. Proven experience in product sales with a consultative technical sales approach.
2. Background in highways or civil engineering.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
5. Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience
1. Knowledge of Chapter 8 (Traffic Safety Measures and Signs for Road Works).
2. Familiarity with CD 378 (Impact Test and Assessment Criteria for Truck Mounted Attenuators).
3. Understanding of the highways or civil engineering industry.
4. Over three years of experience in a BDM role (construction/highways).
5. Skilled in delivering presentations and public speaking.
6. Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Sage) and HNC/HND qualifications in engineering or equivalent experience in engineering sales.
